No Man's Land

On our way to Liberal, Kansas (home to a National Beef processing plant), we stopped in Goodwell, Oklahoma to tour the tiny, but fascinating, No Man's Land Historical Museum. Believe it or not, the panhandle of Oklahoma was indeed no man's land from 1850 to 1890.  It had no laws, no local authorities, no courts, and no way of registering deeds or property claims.
