Gateway Arch

Made it to the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.  What an amazing structure!  Designed by Eero Saarinen and constructed from 1963 to 1965, it is the tallest man-made monument in the United States, and is the centerpiece of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. We took the tram to the top and looked both east and west and could see for miles. Afterwards, we explored the underground museum which was centered on the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and then had lunch in the park before heading to Indianapolis.
